THE ROUNDSTONE PAVILION

AT OHIO CITY FARM

This new facility will help us advance our mission and further cement Ohio City Farm as a key part of the City of Cleveland's future and the Irishtown Bend Park project, which is projected to bring 1 million visitors annually to the area. An investment into increased infrastructure will allow Ohio City Farm to preserve this culturally and ecologically important accessible green space and create new opportunities for Cuyahoga County residents. This project will offer enhanced facilities for our operations and staff, and a low-risk environment for newcomer growers and food entrepreneurs to build their businesses and engage with a robust and expanding customer base.

This building also hosts 8-12 retail vendors from the local community and 8 food entrepreneurs who will sell value-added products that they will make utilizing the commercial kitchen.

FARM HISTORY

The Refugee Response - now Re:Source Cleveland - was founded in 2009 by two local Clevelanders, Mr. Paul Neundorfer and Mr. David Wallis.

In 2010 ground was broken for Ohio City Farm on Cleveland's Historic West Side and our organization began to recruit mentors to support refugee students, established the REAP Program, and began to sell organically grown fresh produce to some of Cleveland's best restaurants.

Since breaking ground, at least seven countries of origin have been represented on the farm team. Many refugees working at the farm have a background working agriculture in their home countries and bring a wide range of experience to their work here in Cleveland. For our team members, the farm provides a familiar and welcoming work environment that is invaluable when acclimating to a new city and country.

All crops that go into the Ohio City Farm CSA, restaurant orders, farm stand, and farm-to-community food donation program were sown, grown and harvested by the hardworking team employed by RC.
